Good 72º sunny morning. Of course it's late now, was up at 6:30 and it was a comfortable 53º. "They" keep telling us "rain" but nothing on the map.... satellite or radar.  Yesterday quite windy, but that's all.

   Total weirdo.

Yesterday was fun. I went to Brian and Jen's expecting a barbecue lunch and was told, "We're going on a road trip"... So Brian, Jen, Tucker, Sami, Jean (Jen's mom) and I piled into their truck and off we went down to Galice. Galice is on the Rogue River and near to where the Big Windy Fire was. Fire now 85% contained and no smoke where we went. Here is a map showing where Galice is in relation to the fire area...

So much of the river was closed during the worst of the smoke and fire.
Here is Galice in relation to Grants Pass and Medford:

We had a great time. It was quite windy so we didn't sit down next to the rail by the water. Had great presents given to me... Jen found, get this, Jellybean Chardonnay! Jelly Bean Wines are vinted and bottled in Sonoma California.

Here is a smilebox of the day's events....

Two balls held with a piece of rope. If you wrap it around the top rung you get 3 points, second is 2 points, and third down is 1 point. Kids have one at home. They love it.

Oh I love the Souix old boat. Funny!!
I love love that Jen gave you the Jellybean wine! What a hoot. How fun! That girl is amazing!!

What a fun surprise. You didn't say how long it took to get there. From the looks of the map it looks like a very long way.

Aren't you just stunned at the height of those bldgs now? Amazing looking at their height compared to the Empire State Bldg. I think it's ridiculous because how do you fight a fire up that high? I think it's just an ego thing to see who can build the tallest.

Glad your day was fun yesterday!

Thanks T. It really isn't very far. Probably 30 minutes. Map looks like it is a long way. xo
