Smoke and Fires Or & So. Cal ~ Egg Fried in Green Pepper

Good 54º slightly smokey morning. Tree trimming guy, Chris, didn't make it yesterday. Truck broke down or something. He'll be here today. We may have thunder-boomers...

Yesterday we actually saw sky and clouds! And Dude got to go for a couple of runs~!

And.... we actually saw a water dropping helicopter fly over. With all the smoke they and the borate bombers haven't been flying...

The smoke on the Rogue River has been horrible... so much of it has been closed to the public... Here are a few folks doing a "float" on the river and were allowed to finish, then the area closed...

Wow, the fires in So. Cal are horrible!!! Many  many acres and lots of homes lost. Here is the info from my friend Joan down in Palm Desert....
My friends, Sandy (Todoran) and Jerome Beck live in Beaumont and she said at night they could see the flames!

If you haven't seen this before...well, here it is again!
H.L. Mencken (born 1880 - died 1956) was a journalist, satirist, critic -- and a Democrat.  He wrote this editorial while working for the Baltimore Evening Sun; it appeared in the July 26, 1920, edition:

"As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people.  On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron."
----H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun, July 26, 1920

Breakfast yesterday was yummmmm... took a green pepper and sliced it, put butter and oil in a frying pan and heated it, added the sliced pepper, dropped an egg into each, salt/pepper, lid on and cooked til done. (They would have cooked faster with a larger pepper so the egg wasn't so thick)
Took one of Jeannie's heirloom tomatoes and sliced it up. GOOD!!!!

A little sweet/hot chili sauce and OMGOOD!!!
All I know. TGIF. Nuff said. Ciao.

Just a quick comment. Those peppers might have been small, but better tasting than the ones you get at the market, don't ya think? Your breakfast looked good.
Glad you are enjoying the "goods".
Have a wonderful day and thanks for the blog. xo

What a wonderful way to fix eggs! Girl, you should cook for magazines! The presentations are so lovely!

It still makes my heart hurt to see little Caylee Anthony. She was so precious! Damn! I will never believe that her party girl mother didn't murder her! Don't know how they got thru that trial without revealing the truth!! Somebody put that baby in that garbage bag!! Damn!!!

Glad you posted that 1920 newspaper quote. I have it posted on my FB page. Tks Gator!

I couldn't believe my eyes at the photo of those folks floating down the river! HORRID!!

Have a good one!

You are so kind T!!! xoxoxo

Caylee's death and the miscarriage of justice is appalling. Sick.

Fires and smoke here are bad, but the fires in So. Cal are so frightening and gaining ground!

If you read your cat a book and fed her rice pudding...

Quite a list today. That egg idea looks good.
