PGA Names ~ Oregon Fires ~ Brian Jen Tucker Sami ~ Middle Child Day

Good 52º pretty clear morning.

Interesting...Jason Dufner wins PGA ChampionshipIn his first major title win, the 36-year-old Dufner came out on top with a two-stroke victory over Jim Furyk on Sunday at Oak Hill. Tiger leaves empty-handed

Ok, Dufner.... sigh, strange name, but not as strange as Furyk....Furry K! Geeze. So sad for Tiger. Not.

Smoke jumpers, rapellers, hand crews and engines are responding to ten additional lightning-caused fires on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest since Saturday’s thunderstorm, despite the moderate to heavy rains in some areas.

Four new fires are on the Wild Rivers Rangers District with the largest at four acres. The remaining nine fires are each less than one acre with four located on the High Cascades Ranger District and two on the Powers Ranger District.

If visibility continues to improve, aircraft will provide additional support with bucket drops as well as flights to aid in smoke and fire detection. The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest also continues to staff fire lookouts and additional fire-fighting resources are available if needed.

Even with the wet thunderstorms yesterday, fire danger throughout southwest Oregon remains extreme.

Went over to Brian and Jen's yesterday afternoon. We chatted, had iced tea, watched some of the PGA golf. Brian has done a lot of work on his fish pond... digging it out deeper and putting in a liner and pump and drain. The fish Dave gave him are happy happy and he got some Angel Koi to join with the gold fish...

I couldn't get a good picture of the Angel Koi, but this is what they look like:

I brought everyone a shirt.... Brian and his sister Kristen call each other "monkey", Jen had a Corgi named Candice, Tucker likes cats so got him one with BIG cats, and the blue-eyed kitten was Sami!

Came home, not in the mood to cook, had leftovers. It was about 86º and the air was clear for a change. Nice.

This is the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. It is also known as the "Glorious Twelfth" in the United Kingdom, as it marks the traditional start of the grouse shooting season.

Middle Child's Day

When : Always August 12th
Middle Child's Day gives a little well deserved recognition to the  wonderful and special middle child in the family.
For parents of three children, you likely know the "Middle Child Syndrome" all too well. If you grew up the middle child with both older and younger siblings, you know the feeling a from a very personal perspective.
The first child is the first child. Beyond a doubt, the first born is a very special occasion. And he, or she, has all of mom and dad for a while before the second child comes along. The final child is and always will be the baby of the family.

Middle children are late bloomers.

One of my favorite memories was visiting a friend of my parents with a pond in their backyard. Lucky Sami and Tucker!

I remember the 1994 Baseball Strike. Even the mighty can be humbled.

Brian did a great job on the pond. Looks beautiful. Way to go Brian! The shirts you bought them are adorable. Fun stuff.
Sounds like you are going to have a fun filled day indoors. Hope your electrician can fix your outlet without any problems. I know you will be happy to get that back up and running.
I think Jane Wyatt was still very nice looking as she aged. loved her on Father Knows Best. Bet I said the exact same thing last year. LOL
Have a wonderful Monday and we will chat later. xo

I guess when you have four children there are two middle children? lol Thinking my Eric who was my second born was the later bloomer. Went to school for soooo long, spent a fortune on education and finally found his special "career" job a bit over a year ago. Our baby boy is definitely a late bloomer too!

Love love the shirts! I think I posted a pic of John in one of those. His has a very realistic pig on the front. Such a hoot!!
