Cliffie ~ Elk ~ Coyote ~ Storm ~ Sink Fixed ~ Rice Cakes w/ Eggs ~ Veggie Dip

Good 50º clear cool morning. The radar is clear...no storms on the horizon.

Today is a special friend's birthday. Cliff is celebrating #82! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLIFFIE! ♥

Yesterday afternoon I looked out and here was a one elk. She was certainly dark in color.. not like the usual..she looked at me for a few and then went into the bushes....

Then I was on the phone with Sacramento Linda and Dude was barking, then this howling barking started. I went outside and wayyyyyyyyy down in the lower pasture was a young coyote.... a black one! He was screaming/barking/howling..probably lost sight of his mom. Never saw a black coyote before.... nor a black elk! Weird!  do do do do do do do do......... (creepy music plays...)

Here's what they look like, I didn't take this picture....

Sandwich shop workers Richard and Adam Johnson received a standing ovation for their rendition of "The Impossible Dream."

This is amazing and fun to watch. Thank you John Thurman (LASD ret) for sharing this!!

Well, bummer about yesterday and dinner at Applegate Valley Ranch. The thunder started in the morning about 9am and accompanied by rain. Got a lot in a short time, but in Grants Pass the thunder was shaking everyone's homes! Scaring the animals and a lot of people! 4000+ homes lost power and by afternoon it was down to 1400+. We all decided to stay home last night and make sure our pets were not frightened and if the power went out we would be home. Of course, no more storm. But that's ok. We'll do Applegate Ranch one more time before summer is over.

At least I finally got my sink fixed.
Don't worry, the left handle is white wine!

At the beauty shop yesterday Leah was cutting the hair of a local woman who is 90 years old. On her 90th birthday she did skydiving! OMG. She's quite a gal. Chatted with her a bit. She walks all over town and still drives. We should all be so "spry" at that age!

Lunch yesterday... fried egg on top of rice cake, cheese on top of egg...

Dinner was veggies and lemon/mayonnaise/garlic dipping sauce...

All I know. Lunch with the "girls" today. Rain or shine! Rosso's and then The Twisted Cork for wine and tourist watching! Rosso's Italian.... good food!
Twisted Cork wine bar with seats at the windows so we can watch the crazies driving and walking! (No eye contact Jeannie! LOL)

Nuff said. TGIF. Ciao.

Good morning!
Wow, the elk and the coyote are really pretty, and yes, unusual. Dude is a good watch dog to let you know what is going on out there.
The Johnson Brother's singing gave me chills. I love that song sooooo much I actually sat here and cried. What an emotional goof I am. LOL
Thank goodness you got that sink fixed. I'll be right over!
Looking forward to today. Don't worry about me with the eye contact. I now have to train you. LOL See you soon, and thanks for the great blog. xo

Those elk look different from the ones I'm used to seeing pictures of...

Yes Dom, I have never seen one like this either. Friend of mine saw, probably this same one, this morning up by her house... just up the road. She was amazed too.

Fun photos. Where do I get a faucet like yours? With the price of water- the utilities price water like wine, so why not?
