Sky ~ Salad ~ Flea/Tic Collars ~ Gator ~ Golf ~ José ~ Pizza

Good cloudy 45º morning. Thunder boomers yesterday afternoon, more expected today. Of course! I need to spray weeds and grass today. Sigh.....

Yesterday 3:30pm and then at 6:30 pm .......

....and 6:45am this morning....

Breakfast yesterday was salad! Iceberg lettuce, tomato, avocado, broccoli slaw, & carrots..... Brianna's Poppy Seed dressing with a drizzle of lemon juice........

Found this teeny tiny baby bird that had fallen out of the birdhouse and died. So sad. I gave him last rites and buried him with a prayer.
I have never seen one this small.

I may have told you I got Dude a flea/tic collar from the vet. It's good for 8 months at a cost of $77.00. It's called Seresto and made in Germany. The Frontline I get from the vet for 8 months costs $125.20. Half price for the collar. Look into it if you have a dog. AND if you buy it on line it's only $49 + shipping.

from Pberger... you golfers will like this one!

Skipping church...
Father Norton woke up Sunday morning and realizing it was an exceptionally beautiful and sunny spring day, decided he just had to play golf.

So.... he told the Associate Pastor that he was feeling sick and persuaded him to say Mass for him that day. As soon as the Associate Pastor left the room, Father Norton headed out of town to a golf course about 40 miles away. This way he knew he wouldn't accidentally meet anyone from his parish. Setting up on the first tee, he was alone. After all, it was Sunday morning and everyone else was in church! About this time, Saint Peter leaned over to the Lord while looking down from the heavens and exclaimed, "You're not going to let him get away with this, are you?" The Lord sighed, and said, "No, I guess not."

Just then Father Norton his the ball and it shot straight towards the pin, dropping just short of it, rolled up and fell into the hole.  IT WAS A 420 YARD HOLE IN ONE!

Saint Peter was astonished. He looked at the Lord and asked, "Why did you let him do that?" The Lord smiled and replied, "Who's he going to tell."

Yesterday I got the clean out bug. One carport, where Jerry's old '55 Chevy truck is, hasn't been cleaned since before he died. I got in there and tossed stuff! I have a bunch for the burn pile too. I had an old cruddy cat carrier that has been out there forever and about 30 years old, so since Jeannie gave me a nice new one, I put it out for whomever snags it. Someone will!
A tribute to Cinco de Mayo....
Dinner... didn't have any hoisin sauce....thought I did, so used an orange ginger sauce..... and sesame oil...also, no tortillas, so used pizza crusts! Mixed a drained can of beef with the sauce and oil and added in grated cheese. Put olive oil on the crusts and topped with meat/cheese mixture. Baked 20 minutes at 425º.

Then I filled and avocado half with salsa, chopped up a tomato, and cut the pizza. OUTSTANDING! Glad there is leftovers for breakfast!!! YUMMMMM!
Will certainly make this again!

All I know. Rick Hart coming up here today to see about brush-hogging my pastures. Jason supposed to be here today to weed-eat the creek and fence line. We'll see, re the weather. Happy Monday. Ciao. (P.S. Brian and Sami better. Brian going to work, Sami still home one more day or so..Keep thy fingers crossed Jen doesn't get it next!)

 International No Diet Day
This began in 1992, the idea of a British author who was trying to raise awareness of eating disorders, size acceptance and weight discrimination in society. I think that it's healthy to enjoy good foods once in a while, regardless of their calorie count. So today, eat carbs! Eat fats! More importantly, ENJOY your food.

Sue, I can't even imagine maintaining your spread in RR. Here I am huffin' and a puffin' on a postage stamp compared to yours. :) Loved the pics of your dogs meandering down the road....something straight out of a Disney dog buddy film and the Bruiser, so aptly named out in the weeds watching them. When you send the sports pics of Tucker's games it's like attending one of them. You should have "official" status as sports photog..:) Edda

Thanks E! As for "official photog" that is Jen's forte. She's awesome. xo

Tammy, that beef in a can is great for quick tacos! I drain it and let the dogs have the liquid. This pizza could also be made with the chicken or salmon. xo
