Yesterday was a trip to the dentist. My hygienist, Liz, has left my local RR dentist, after 26 years!, and has moved to work with a dentist where she worked part-time for years, Deborah Maryak DDS, in Grants Pass at Bright Now Dental. (1021 NE 6th St, GP)

I switched dentists because I think the world of Liz and she is the BEST! AND now I just am crazy about Dr. Deborah too! She is awesome, thorough, pretty, nice, and her man has a Fat Boy Harley!!! Anyway, a real good experience. Now x-rays are digital. Immediately they appear on the screen and can be enlarged. Then in the exam room the screen shows the x-rays so the hygienist can check them as well as the dentist during the exam...

Then, unbeknownst to me, my son Brian's family all go there and Liz and Dr. Deborah have worked on their teeth! Found this out as I was standing at the counter and saw a State Farm pen and asked who their agent was... Brian Pendleton! How funny. Small world. Small town!

Ok, now I have to tell you about a friend of Liz who was driving in Gold Hill when a whole flock of turkeys started crossing the road in front of her.

She slowed to a stop, noticing a policeman was behind her. As the turkeys crossed and she started to go, a lone turkey ran back out in front of her.

She hit it! It bounced straight up and hit the hood, windshield, and then bounced back and hit the policeman's radio car! He pulled her over and gave her a ticket. Can you imagine! Wait for it.............................................
The citation was for 'flipping the bird at a cop' !
(Ok, I know my poleeece friends will laugh~! Thanks for that Liz, I'm still giggline!)

Then, off to do some shopping. Picked up a new seasoning, never had tried, but it was "bogo" so ....
Sounds great!

My Bruiser was gone all night Thursday night. :o( Always makes me sad and I worry, but he was sitting on the porch waiting for me when I got home yesterday afternoon. Now he's glued to me! (and my desk!)

Try this....... REALLY GOOD!
Tuscan Chickpea Soup

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups finely chopped onion
8 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups water
1 teaspoon minced fresh or 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3 (15 1/2-ounce) cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained
(14 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes, un-drained
1 to 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
6 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) grated fresh Parmesan cheese
add carrots and celery to sauté... do not puree.... use crushed tomatoes instead of diced.....
  1. Heat the olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the water and the next 5 ingredients (water through tomatoes), and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes.
  2. Stir in the vinegar, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Spoon 1 1/2 cups soup into each of 6 bowls; sprinkle each serving with 1 tablespoon cheese.

Scrabble Day
Scrabble Day celebrates the popular board game. It's been popular around the world ever since. People young and old enjoy this game. Scrabble was created in 1938 by Alfred Mosher Butts. It is sold by Hasbro, Inc. It's very easy to celebrate Scrabble Day. Just get out the old board game, dust it off, and play a few rounds with family or friends.
