Flags ~ Local Beeeootch! ~ Carnage ~ Spinach Pesto

Good 33º clear morning. Hopefully a nice 'outdoor' day.

Yesterday I got my new flags up.... finally!
God Bless America! God Bless the Marine Corps!
God help us all!

On Tuesday I left the Bohemian where I had lunch with the girls and stopped to drop a prescription at my pharmacy in RR. Leaving there, a woman was walking along and made a sudden right turn towards the car lane where I was driving. She never looked up. She was far enough away so I just continued on... as I passed her she screamed at me, "STOP!" I rolled down the passenger side window and said, "What? You think you're at f**king Disneyland?" I know. But idiots think everyone should pay attention to what they are doing and they don't have to be accountable and they all think whatever they do they have the right of way! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Then she yelled..."BITCH! And your big black truck!" LOL. I said back, "And your shoes are ugly!" (She was 30-ish, really heavy, and had on bright pink tennis shoes.)

Then she just stepped right off the curb immediately in front of moving traffic!! Two cars had to quickly stop and sit and wait for her to cross in front of them. No crosswalk there! She needed a citation, big time! And an attitude adjustment! I'm still smiling. That was fun!

Every day the news is bad...

Boston carnage and now loss of life in Texas from the explosion. Seems like our soldiers are being killed every day too. I'm becoming like a lot of people I know, I don't want to know! Just sent a donation to the Red Cross and one to DAV! And can you believe, some 'group' is angry that the suspect in the Boston bombings was described as "dark skinned"! Geeeeeeeze people. What if he had been "pale white" or "Asian looking" or ...... ???? How do you describe someone so the police can look for him? "Oh, it was a man." Well gee whiz, shouldn't men get mad about that. "Oh pardon me, it was a person". Duh. Ok, off the box.......

Yesterday afternoon I made pesto. I had a bag of spinach that was reaching it's prime so I made spinach pesto!

Brown the pine nuts in a dry pan on the stove. Peel a bunch of cloves of garlic and put that and pine nuts in food processor. Add spinach (pack it in) and a good amount of Parmesan cheese and a pinch of sea salt. Turn on processor and pour a thin steady stream of olive oil in until it's the consistency you like. Got that done and some of the pesto in zip freezer bags and put in freezer. Then made a ham and pesto sandwich on a cheese roll..... OINK!

I had a note yesterday from a friend who said that 4-17 was "Jerry's Day" .... yes. He was the gunsmith extraordinaire ! AND my snivel for the day (yes, Billy Boy....SNIVEL!) that nobody mentioned the funny from yesterday's blog.... "cross hares"!!!
:o(

All I know. Happy Thursday. Nuff said. Ciao.

National Animal Crackers Day

National Animal Crackers Day celebrates a truly fun food. When you were a kid, did you eat the trunks off the elephants first? Or the heads and necks of the giraffes? However you made your animal bites, these lightly sweetened crackers (cookies, really) have been delighting

Too many stories leading with bleeding on TV. The information is important- but if a person cannot do anything to solve the situation- it is best to limit bad news intake. Find something good to do for someone else - write a check to a charity, work a food bank- take grapefruit to your neighbor.

Good Morning.

Let me start from the bottom up. Animal cookies were my fav growing up. Just looking at the pictures makes me want to go out and buy some and eat the entire bag/box, both. LOL
Sorry about no comment re "cross hares". Your wit is also "extraordinaire"!
Your pesto sounds wonderful, and that sandwich...OMG to quote you, made me drool.
I have always liked Haley Mills. One my all time favorite movies was the Parent Trap. Cute one.
Not much to say about all the horrible news. It is a very scary and depressing world we live in. My heart aches for all the people involved in the explosions. My prayers are with them.
Sounds like you didn't make much of a friend Tuesday in your "big black truck". LOL I can so picture you screaming at her. You probably really wanted those shoes to wear while you were driving your black cadillac. Hey, isn't that a song?
Last, but not least, glad you got your flags up. That was quite a job I am sure.
Have a wonderful day, and we will chat later. xo

Hello Girlfriend,

I'm finally back. I read a couple of your blogs trying to find out just WHO is "Dude"?? Where did he come from? I gave up looking for the answer.

The comment about Jerry made me remember what John told us on the ship while telling Art about a certain gun he had. He was at the range and it locked up, wouldn't work. So he took it to Jerry. Jerry pounded the barrel open with a hammer then hit it a couple of more times. lol That fixed it and it worked like a charm! Funny, huh?

Enjoyed hearing about you screaming at the pink shoed bitch! LOL. She deserved to have one of those cars tap her but then she would have sued big time! Some people!!!

Well glad to be back and catching up on the news. Never heard anything on the ship. We don't normally turn on the TV in our room so the friends aboard were telling us the news. Not good.

Hugs, XOXO Trisha

We are all heavy hearted from the recent news. I try to focus on happy things; in my mind I say " You wont break my spirit. You wont get attention from ME!!! LET us focus on our fellow American families who suffer from these attacks ; You ARE in MY prayers!!!!
