Sky ~ The Bruise ~ Pickleball ~ Pistachios

Good 26º frozen, again, morning. Pretty clear sky today....

Last night's sunset was pretty too....

Interesting clouds coming back from Medford yesterday.... see the fish just above the mountain on the right? Looks like a shark....

Bruiser is so funny. He goes off now and hunts and then comes back every day. He's happy to be indoors and on my lap. Sunday he went way up in the pasture. I saw him and called his name. He came back to me RUNNING!

So after 'playing' with the picture I erased the fence...
How cool is that!

Historically this date...
1919 – President Woodrow Wilson signs an act of the U.S. Congress establishing most of the Grand Canyon as a United States National Park (see Grand Canyon National Park).

1987Iran-Contra affair: The Tower Commission rebukes President Ronald Reagan for not controlling his national security staff.

1993World Trade Center bombing: In New York City, a truck bomb parked below the North Tower of the World Trade Center explodes, killing 6 and injuring over a thousand.

And births this date include...
1829Levi Strauss, German-born clothing designer (d. 1902)

1846William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, American frontiersman (d. 1917)

1852John Harvey Kellogg, American surgeon and advocate (d. 1943)

1916Jackie Gleason, American actor, writer, composer and comedian (d. 1987)

1920 – Tony Randall, American actor (d. 2004)

1928Fats Domino, American musician
This brings back so many fun memories!.....

1953Michael Bolton, American singer

1958 – Susan J. Helms, American astronaut

The annual doc appointment was good. I just love my new doctor, she is funny and cute and so knowledgeable! Left there, stopped at the market, went to Patty and Cliff's. Problem with their AOL and a search window pops up every time they log on. I looked and looked on how to get rid of it, but to no avail. The "opt out" didn't work. So, we had some wine and chatted. I'll look into that from here and see what I can come up with. Soup for dinner. Relaxing fire. Nice. Had a chat with Jeannie (she and Bill down in Casa Grande, AZ) and they learned how to play pickleball yesterday. She said they loved it and had a blast.

Funny, first played on Bainbridge Island, Wa and named after the dog, Pickles, who would retrieve the errant balls.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

Interesting bdays today. Isn't it amazing that Fats D. is still alive considering his weight?

Love it that Bruiser is now YOUR kitty. He knows life is so much better with you than when he was a wild cat! :)

Chili looks yummy. I have to make it with gr. beef, no pork used here unless Becky is gone for the weekend. That's ok because it's Becky! :)

It makes me sad to think that everyone who starred on "Lucy" is now gone.

Have a good one and stay warm!

XOXO Trisha

Thanks T. Yes, that chili does look good. Jerry was the chili cook in our house. I haven't had any since the last time he made it. He and Klinger were always in the Sheriff's Chili Cook-Off at Wayside. Since they worked the range, it was called Deranged Chili. LOL. Fun times. xo
