Cold (weather) ~ Cold (me) ~ Poem (cold) ~ (Hot) Chicken Soup ~ Peking Duck

Good 26º VERY foggy (again!) and everything frozen morning. UGH. The sun did eventually come out yesterday...about 2pm. Warmed to a tropical 38º. Warm enough for me to bundle up and take my trash out to the can by the road.

Today is day 3 of this coughing/sneezing/runny nose mess I have. Took a "cold-allergy" pill last night and slept all night without waking up once to cough!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This weather is so reminding me of the poem that Abigail Elizabeth McIntyre wrote... I love to read this.....
SHIT
It's cold.
The End.
(Thanks Deeewayne P-Berger for that!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here is the soup I made day before yesterday...

2 cartons of chicken stock
1 lg can of Kirkland chicken
1/2 cup Farro (or couscous, or Quinoa, or any pasta)
1/2 cup Mexican flavored rice (Uncle Bens)
1 can, drained, garbanzo beans
6-8 Brussels sprouts, trimmed and cut in half
handful of broccoli slaw (with shredded carrots)
6-8 broccoli pieces
4 Roma tomatoes, cut up
zest of one lemon
juice of one lemon
Put everything except tomatoes into crockpot. Turn on high for 1 hour, then low for 3-4 hours. Add tomatoes the last hour.

It was awesome!

BTW, I was experimenting again with Photoshop and figured out how to put together all the ingredients of the soup onto one picture. Yea!

I feel your pain. Hope you get over it quicker than I have.
Soooo many I know are sick with this. It is warming up here tho.

Today is Debbie's birthday. Kev is taking her to Disneyland for the weekend. They are taking baby but I am Delilah sitting. She is so sweet.

Your soup looked amazing! You sure do put lots of good stuff in it.

Love your pic with Cary! You made a good looking couple! :)

Hugs and feel better soon.

Debbie friended me on FB so I put a happy birthday song on her page. Thanks re soup. It was GOOD! I don't think there are many things you can't put in soup. Yes, Cary was a dreamboat! I hope you feel better soon too. This is nasty. Only my 3rd day and I'm cranky! xo

So glad Deb friended you. She and Kev don't pay much attention to friends request I don't think so I am glad. I sure have spoken of you often enough! :)
I will have to go look at the song you posted. That's cool. I don't have a clue how some folks put musical notes, and other symbols up on FB.

In your computer is a 'Character Map'... you can do a search for it. I use the Batang font. Scroll down and you will see a variety of characters. You select one you want, click copy, and the with your right click paste it to an email. When you have all the characters you want, copying and pasting ... then you send it to yourself. Keep it in a "saved on my PC" folder in email and then when you want to "sing" you copy and past it to the FB page.... adding in the person's name. OR.... you can copy and paste the one I added to an email and keep that. Clear as mud?
