21º Heat Wave! ~ Pretentious King ~ Blonde Brownies

Good 21º morning. Ahhhh the glory of the frozen tundra**...

Big Al Bore...... Global F**king Warming MyAss. Just ask folks around here!!

**Tundra is the coldest of all the biomes. It is noted for its frost-molded landscapes, extremely low temperatures, little precipitation, poor nutrients, and short growing seasons. Dead organic material functions as a nutrient pool. The two major nutrients are nitrogen and phosphorus. Nitrogen is created by biological fixation, and phosphorus is created by precipitation.
Characteristics of tundra include:

  1. Extremely cold climate
  2. Low biotic diversity
  3. Simple vegetation structure
  4. Limitation of drainage
  5. Short season of growth and reproduction
  6. Energy and nutrients in the form of dead organic material
  7. Large population oscillations

I have a gadget on my Google page that says when my next birthday is.... it will be in 222 days and 22 hours! OMG.

So.................. as it went yesterday...
The 'Pretentious King' had his day in the sun....

.....as well as his 'Court Jester' ...

They just continue to instill that swelling pride and peace of mind.

BLONDE BROWNIES

1 1/3 stick butter, melted
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 c. chopped pecans
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels

In medium bowl, stir first eight ingredients until blended well. Spread into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle morsels over dough. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Cut into squares while warm.
(or use chocolate chips instead of butterscotch!) National Blonde Brownie Day is a special day that is set aside to bake and eat blonde brownies. What's a blonde brownie, you ask? Well, as their name implies, traditional brownies are a dark brown. To make blonde brownies, light brown sugar is used in the recipe in place of dark brown chocolate. On National Blonde Brownie Day, its your right and responsibility to bake blonde brownies, and to eat them. If you don't have time to bake today, buy some and eat a few extra blonde brownies.

Sue,

Are you used to turning on the TV during the day? If so were you able to escape the immaculation? I didn't see one second of it and didn't miss turning on the TV.

I am reading the best book ever and was so involved in that when I wasn't on FB reading the like minded comments on there. Oh it's good to have all conservative FB friends. They give you a big laugh and also educate!

I think I tell you this every year on his bday but I used to be a huge fan of Graham Kerr. I still have his recipes on those colorful 3 x 5 cards he used to send out.
Funny thing is my retired State Farm agent was Graham Kerr also. (It's pronounced "Care")

Glad you're not cranky anymore, but don't worry there will be plenty of stuff to be cranky about in the next four years.

No, no TV on here yesterday. I listened to music. I turned it on for the news later, and muted the part they talked about the Pompous Idiot. He didn't get my vote, he doesn't get my time, nor my interest. Thanks for your input ladies and gent! xo
