Last Day? ~ More Snow! ~ Bruiser ~ Power Out ~ JoAnn ~ Katrina

Good 33º ground covered with snow morning!

Well, today is it.. the end of the world. If that doesn't happen, let's hope not, then we have the shortest day and the longest night of the year to contend with. Winter Solstice. Thought this appropriate for today.....

About noon it had been raining like mad and we got an inch. Then it started snowing. HOLY COW! It came down in truckloads! Quickest I've seen it cover the ground! The summit was a mess with no traffic north or south and so are most of the roads here.

Pictures of the progression here... 12:03, 12:51, and 3:04 pm :

And the Poopsie Do, aka Maggs, sniffing out the white stuff....
Ewwwww.... do I have to put all of my feet in that ????

....meanwhile, The Bruise took up the middle of my desk.....

Today is my friend JoAnn Kirk's (wife of Joe - LASD ret) birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!! See you Saturday, maybe! ( OMG, look, JoAnn has crabs!)

After it snowed all day, power flickered occasionally. I had to go out and wipe the snow off the satellite dish several times.  I was watching a Hallmark movie, made popcorn to munch. Shortly after that at about 9pm the power went out. I lit an oil lamp. Bruiser had been in all day and slept in my rocking chair. I decided since the power was out might as well go to bed. Harley joined me in his usual spot and lo and behold Bruiser jumped up on the bed and slept all night on the other side of me! At one point I had my hand out of the covers and he put his head on it and started purring. OMG.

I think the power came back on sometime around 3am. The clock on my stove was flashing 2:54! I think I may have to call the phone company as a wire going between two of the poles is only about 5' off the ground and it appears to be weighted down by the snow. Do they contract back up???

All I know. Nuff said. TGIF. No school up here!

If you drive to Redding for an In and Out you are seriously hooked):- Maybe your friend's down south could tempt you with a map of the burger shops between Redding and here, with just enough coupons to feed you? LOL - We'll just tell your pets there is no snow on the ground and they'll push you into the SUV and hop in the back seat!
