R's in Hollywood ~ Jan Esquivel ~ Cherries Jubilee

Good 43º clear morning. Warmed back up yesterday and it is supposed to be a trend for this week. Not as warm as So. Cal though! You guys need a break!

This from my friend Trish... interesting to say the least. Some I knew, but some blew me away!

Today is my friend Jan Esquivel's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAN! She is the former president of our JCRW.

Historically this date...
1957 – President Dwight D. Eisenhower sends 101st Airborne Division troops to Little Rock, Arkansas, to enforce desegregation.
2005Hurricane Rita makes landfall in the United States, devastating Beaumont, Texas and portions of southwestern Louisiana.
And births this date include....
1924 – Sheila MacRae, singer & actress
... with husband Gordon

Sheila with Meredith                            and in 2008

1930 – John W. Young, American astronaut

1936Jim Henson, American puppeteer (d. 1990)

This from Gator... see where you fit...

All I know. Tim coming over today to start some trim painting on my front and back porches. Hope he's not here too early...... yawning. Did NOT want to get up this morning!
Football last night was depressing. The Emmy's were considered for about 5 minutes and then the show was soooooo boring and long it was turned off. Best get to taking down birdhouses. Happy Monday. Ciao.

Thanks L. Jan is not only our past president of JCRW but her husband Sal serves in the Oregon House of Representatives for the Medford area. Great couple!

Wow, so Gerry is a Cherries Jubilee fire hazard? LOL. I make them without the fire. No drama, just good! xo
