Coyotes ~ Balloons ~ Sami ~ Egg Salad w/ Guacamole ~ Constitution Day ~ Apple Dumplings

Good 48º morning.

Yesterday morning I saw three coyotes in the pasture. Looked like a mom and her two babies.... "mom" was just sitting, with the appearance of boredom, while the other two were running hither and yon!

Saturday I went shopping for balloons to put on Jeannie's gate. Her birthday was the 10th and she and Bill were gone but returning home yesterday.

So then yesterday I took the balloons up to their house and tied them to their gate... (I love the Elmo one!)

I was trying to hurry, as it was about 9:30 then. Jeannie had told me they would leave 7 Feathers about 9-ish, but knowing these early birds I felt as if they would be home any time. I finished and then was going back out the road to Brian's and here come Bill and Jeannie! WHEW. In the nick of time~! I honked and waved and Jeannie had the funniest look on her face! Wish I could have caught it on film! She probably thought I had wrapped their gate in crime scene tape again! LOL

I took my door screen to Brian's and he re-screened it for me. Excellent job!

Sami is the fashion plate.... purple boots, pink skirt, orange shirt, and blue helmet ... and showing off the sparkley 'tattoos' on her right arm...

Today my friends Jim and Olga Duran are celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIDS!!

and ..... Patrick Reardon's bride, Alice, is celebrating her special day..HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALICE!!

Historically this date...

1814Francis Scott Key finishes his poem "Defence of Fort McHenry", later to be the lyrics of "The Star-Spangled Banner".

And births this date include....
1923Hank Williams, American musician (d. 1953)

1931Anne Bancroft, American actress (d. 2005)

1948 – John Ritter, American actor (d. 2003)

1971Nate Berkus, American television host

Lunch yesterday was mashed up hard boiled eggs with Kraft pepper mayo, a tomato (fresh from Charlean's friend Lenore), and a dollop of avocado dip (made with chilies) on a Franz multi-grain bun. GOOD!!!!

Later I put some of the avocado dip mixed in with the egg and ate it as a dip with celery. Again, GOOD!

Last night I thought I saw Bruiser on the front porch. He's off on one of his roaming trips I guess and has been gone a couple of days, so I jumped up and looked out... here was a little skunk at the bottom of the steps! YIKES! OMG. Go away! Cute, but good grief, that would be all we need around here! I always worry and worry when Bruiser takes off. Sure wish he'd return soon!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

Good morning! Thanks BFF for the wonderful "balloon" surprise. Made me laugh, and you are right, close call my dear. You were almost caught!LOL Truly, that was very thoughtful.
Your egg salad "bun" looks so yummy. I love egg salad and with that dolloop of quac on it really kicked it up. I will have to try that. You always come up with good ideas.
I'm sure Bruiser will be back, he has it so good there, why stay away.
And last, but not least, Yummo with the Apple Dumpling. Need to try those too.
Well, off to start my day, it will be a busy one. Ciao for now. xo
Jeannie
Thanks again, for the "Welcome back"

Sue,
I got a huge kick out of the story about the apple dumplings. That gal wanted her mother's huge three ring binder full of receipes in the plastic sleeves. LOL Well, you and I know about that! That girl was terrible hiding her mom's notebook like that! Of course if mom had been thoughtful she would have made one for her daughter!
I hope Deb and Becky use theirs.

LOVED the balloons on the gate! What a lovely gate and what a fun thing to do! Would they have seen you if you hadn't honked and waved? I can envision a two lane road with just your two cars passing each other.

John's dad, the firt John Howard Bowler, was born on September 10 too.

Hope Brusier shows up pretty soon! I do not trust coyotes!!

XO Trisha

Yes, you would think the mom would want to share recipes. I know Debbie and Becky will love the books you made for them!

I think they would have known it was me... my truck is rather destinctive! LOL.

Bruiser does this about every 5-7 days, and I still worry. He's pretty savy so he'll be ok, but there is always that one time....
