'Baby' ~ Socks for Heroes ~ Derrick Nemo & Quail ~ Stir Fry

Good 50º cloudy some what drizzly morning.

So, 'Baby' is a fixture on the back porch now. A place where she normally lays and waits for me to feed her was just cement, so I put a soft old towel out there for her...
First thing in the morning she's waiting ....

Visitors....

And the neighbor up the hill has cut and bailed his grass....

Then the rapeing of our aquifer starts again all through the summer! There are laws in regards to irrigation in this county and he's not following any of them from what I understand!

Again, let me remind you of the good deed this father and mother are doing in their son's honor, a Marine who died in combat.... Please donate.

Historically this date....
1974 – The Universal Product Code is scanned for the first time to sell a package of Wrigley's chewing gum at the Marsh Supermarket in Troy, Ohio

1975 – Two FBI agents and a member of the American Indian Movement are killed in a shootout on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota; Leonard Peltier is later convicted of the murders in a controversial trial.

2008 – The U.S. Supreme Court rules in District of Columbia v. Heller that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects an individual right, and that the District of Columbia handgun ban is unconstitutional.
...................come on all you Dems who want to ban handguns. The Supreme Court already said .....

And births this date include....
1898 – Chesty Puller, American military officer (d. 1971)
..... wow, Brian, he died the year you were born! Semper Fi. See, one Marine dies, another is born! Actually both you and Alex were born... as well as many more. Would take a lot of Marines to take Chesty's place! "an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Puller is the most decorated U.S. Marine in history"

1904 – Peter Lorre, Hungarian actor (d. 1964)

1970 – Chris O'Donnell, American actor
NCIS:Los Angeles!!

1974 – Derek Jeter, American baseball player

Yesterday I went to see Derrick at Spectrum Orthotics

re the custom made inserts for my shoes. He's a friend of Brian's. Funny guy! We laughed a lot. (picture of Derrick
and one of his little guys at Sami's birthday party in March....)

I should have my inserts in a couple of weeks...or three. Also, Competitive Athletics in GP has shoes I will look at. He also said massage was good for the foot pain and (as Jeannie told me) freeze a water bottle and then roll my foot back and forth over it on the floor. The cold will help with the pain.

In the orthotics office they have a fish tank and look.....
I found NEMO!!!!

Coming back home just onto my road here was a little quail... his 'pals' farther up the road .... he was sort of curious as I talked to him, but the other two RAN!

....and just inside my gate were the little yearlings ..

Dinner last night was stir fry.... garlic sausage, artichoke hearts, soba noodles and their sauce mix (find in vegetable section - refrigerated)

and some mushrooms along with several spoon fulls of artichoke/jalapeño dip (Costco) ... YUMMY!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.
