Rain ! ~ Lemon Martini ~ Garlic

Good 50º raining morning. A 1/2" in the last 24. Rusting....................................

Sadly the entertainment world lost an icon, Dick Clark, passed away from a heart attack yesterday while in Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica for a procedure the previous day....

I LOVED American Bandstand!

This is Mr. Clark's Malibu home....^

Last night I made miso soup with a bunch of stuff in it, recipe tomorrow. I also, after hearing Bill talk about having a lemon martini I decided to be a copy-cat and make one too.... ice, citrus vodka, and a lemon....

From my friend, Lynn Helbing.... love this:

It just occurred to me... with all the noise the media is making about Mitt Romney's wealth, I don't recall such bluster and hand-wringing over the Kennedy fortune. Or, for that matter, John Kerry, and the Heinz fortune.

Or the fact that John Kerry gave virtually nothing to charity while Romney gave something on the order of $4 million ... in addition to giving away his entire inheritance from his father.

Oh. Wait. I just remembered something. Romney is Republican.

Kerry and Kennedys are Democrats.
Also, Romney worked for his money.
Kennedy inherited his.
And Kerry married it.

Never mind. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Thursday. Ciao.

April 19th
National Garlic Day
National Garlic Day promotes the many uses of Garlic. And, there certainly are many uses. It's a vegetable. Its' a herb. It is used in recipes around the world. Garlic has ben used medicinally for thousands of years. And, Garlic is believed to ward off evil spirits. About the only negative thing you can say about it, is that it can negatively affect an otherwise romantic evening.

Very sad re Dick Clark. He was an icon that is for sure. What a beautiful home he had in Malibu. Wow, very unique.
Cannot wait to see your recipe tomorrow for your Miso soup. Love that stuff.
Great comment about Romney's wealth. Very true.
Just love Eleanor Donahue. Father Knows Best was one of my all time favorite shows. Funny how she has the exact same hairdo after all these years. She looks good.
Okay, enough rambling, off to start my day. Thanks for the jump start. As always, sure enjoy your blog. Chat later. xo

Great minds and all that....A few minutes ago I posted that same piece re Romney and his wealth on my FB page! My friend and former chiropractor sent it in an email. I couldn't resist! The Dems have nothing to run on re Obama's record so they attack Romney for stupid stuff! What hypocrites!

I used to watch A. Bandstand every afternoon when getting home from school before doing homework. That was in the late
50's when it came out of Philadelphia. Oh I loved the way those regulars on the show danced! I thought Dick Clark would never look old!
