Geese ~ Looking Back ~ Gas on Catalina ~ Patterson's Home

Good 43º very cloudy pressure dropping rain approaching morning. Here is the camera above Grants Pass...

So, the geese are out and making a lot of racket. I looked and there were 3 pair! Two of them on the ground, with one pair chasing the other away and one pair on the barn roof!

I was going through the pictures from last year and just tickled at the difference from one to the next:

Got this from a retired LASD, Don Swift. Sure worth a look. RR was spot on! Thanks Don!

Today is a special guy's birthday... John Bowler, ret. Lt. LASD, worked with him at ELA... and the hubby of my dear daily drivel friend Trisha! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!

Historically this date....
1963 – 129 people die when the submarine USS Thresher sinks at sea.

1970Paul McCartney announces that he leaves The Beatles for personal and professional reasons.

1991Italian ferry Moby Prince collides with an oil tanker in dense fog off Livorno, Italy killing 140.

2010 – Polish Air Force Tu-154M crashes near Smolensk, Russia, killing all 96 people on board including President Lech Kaczyński.

And births this date include......
1796James "Jim" Bowie, American pioneer and soldier (d. 1836)

1921Chuck Connors, American actor (d. 1992)

1929 – Max von Sydow, Swedish actor

1932 – Omar Sharif, Egyptian actor

1938Don Meredith, American football player and broadcaster (d. 2010)

1952 – Steven Seagal, Americian actor and martial artist

1988Haley Joel Osment, American actor

So, you think your gasoline is expensive??? Got this from Terri Prim, former LASD Secretary on Catalina Island, fortunately living in Florida now....

The only good thing, the town is only 1 mile square and the longest drive would be from there to the Airport in the Sky, about 9 miles, or to Two Harbors about 18 miles, or using Middle Ranch Rd it would be 21 miles.

Yesterday I went over to Bill and Jeannie's. They are finally home after 6 weeks of travel in their motorhome....

It was good to see them and Chaka.... I brought her treats .... and then Bill took her out for a run.... He drives to the fire trail and Chaka runs and runs.......... She missed that staying in a motorhome and being on a leash all that time.

Bye......

As I left their house these deer crossed the road in front of me....

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao

AWWWWW Sue, thank you for the shout out for John today and those two neat photos of him. I will post them on my FB page. The kids will all join us for dinner tonight at John place of choice, Home Town Buffet.

Love the RR video. Very moving! He was a dynamic speaker!

Loved the comparison photos of Tucker and Sami. What a huge difference a year makes when they are that young.

Hugs XO Trisha

Really interesting. I love that you remember anniversaries and birthdays.

The link was interesting. Divergent opinions on what to look for in a commander in chief. I think it is a matter of wisdom more that Chutzpah. Not all actions are equal.
When was the last time that our current President mentioned that Afghanistan is of high strategic value because of the link of petroleum to No Korea and Pakistan?
A wise man would tell his people.

About all your geese- please wear a hat and don't look up when they are overhead):-

Great to be home! Thanks for coming over yesterday and for all the goodies. Always fun.
Sami is so cute, is fun to see how they change within a year. Tucker just might become a professional ball player. Wow, wouldn't that be fun!!! Let me know when the next game is.
I agree with Trisha, always thought RR was a wonderful speaker. The video was moving.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for the blog. xo
