Weather ~ Gas Prices ~ Bren & Robert 1983 ~ Pineapple Salsa on Fish ~ Baked Scallops

Good 32º morning. Good thing Sami's party was on Saturday because yesterday was windy, rain, corn snow, and just plain nasty most of the day.
The summit wasn't looking good...

well, except for the California side....

As I was on my way to Brian and Jen's Saturday I took a picture of the gas prices (notice 4.17!)

.... this one is from last year at this time...

Email chatted with BFFF .. Jeannie and Bill are in So. Cal desert near Palm Desert... Indio. They were going "geocaching" ... a game played with GPS and you find the 'cache'...

It sounds like a lot of fun!

Here is a camera of barn owls at the Audubon Starr Ranch:

Today is Brenda and Robert Flores' 29th wedding anniversary. A bunch of us from CF Braun went to Las Vegas to celebrate their wedding. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY kids!

Jerry and I and Sandy and Jerome......

Historically this date....
1912 – The Girl Guides (later renamed the Girl Scouts of the USA) are founded in the United States.

.... bought some Girl Scout cookies from one of the moms at Sami's party. Mmmmmm..................

1918Moscow becomes the capital of Russia again after Saint Petersburg held this status for 215 years.

1928 – In California, the St. Francis Dam fails; the resulting floods kill over 600 people.

2009 – Financier Bernard Madoff plead guilty in New York to scamming $18 billion, the largest in Wall Street history.

And births this date include....
1923 – Wally Schirra, American astronaut (d. 2007)

1931 – Billie "Buckwheat" Thomas, American actor (d. 1980)

1933Barbara Feldon, American actress and model

1946Liza Minnelli, American singer and actress

1947 – Mitt Romney, American politician, 70th governor of Massachusetts

1950 – Jon Provost, American actor

Dinner last night.... I mixed a small can of crushed pineapple, diced fine red onion, diced fine 2 jalapeños (seeds and membranes removed), and pulled the leaves off cilantro stems. Mix all with about a teaspoon of sea salt, juice of a lime, and I added a dash of lemon....

I grilled a piece of white fish coated with olive oil, garlic powder, and some chile con limon.

Topped it with the pineapple salsa...

The original recipe is on but I don't like my cilantro chopped up and I added another jalapeño. Really tasty! Would be good on chicken too.

All I know. Nuff said. Trip to the dentist today for that 6 month thingy! Ciao.

What a cute picture of you and Jerry! You are such the looker!
You know, the Romney family is a good looking family, I think.
Yes, geocaching is fun, but not always that easy to find the "goods". Entertaining though.
The gas prices are outrageous! Something needs to be done!!! Don't get me started. LOL
Dinner, as always, looked scrumptious. Thanks for the recipes.
Have fun "BFFF" at the Dentist. Chat later. xo

Yup, the other day I had 1/4th of a tank left and when I filled it up, it cost $60.00!! It's near $5.00 a gallon here. Lord help us!! This admin. wants prices to goup as high as possible so we will be willing to go the green weenie route!! UG!!!
"He" won't allow drilling here but subsidizes the So. American countries with their drilling! CRAZY PERSON!!!
Jeannie, I did get started!! LOL

Love the Romney family! What a wonderful family! During the 08 campaign we met his nephew and he is very handsome too.

Dinner looks marvelous, as usual!!

It's funny T, I get gas at the Union 76 station and most times my total gas comes to $76 or pretty close! Scary. I don't go anywhere unless I have to and then make it stretch by doing several things in one trip. Thanks for the compliments~!! xo

Your pineapple salsa on fish had my mouth watering
as I looked at the pictures. That sounds wonderful!!
I am not a jalapeno fan tho, so would have to really
remove all the seeds, but love, love, cilantro and the
combo with the pineapple sounded to die for. Have to
make it soon. Cyndi

YOu could use any kind of mild chile... even the canned chopped ones, drain first. Or use bell pepper.
