Drizzle ~ Goofy Turkeys ~ Crab Pie

Good 39º drizzly morning. 1/4" rain in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday looked like this allllll day...

I thought it was interesting the way the clouds lay in the trees on the mountain top... looks like smoke...

333 days until the end of the year.

Turkeys were hanging out most of the day. When Maggie gets off the porch to walk around they come close to her... funny! Of course the older wiser guys took cover from the sprinkles under the trampoline...

For all you football fans who will be hosting a gathering or taking something to one... here is a great recipe. It's Sandy's Crab Pie. Sandy (Todoran) and I are old high school pals. One of her 'signature' dishes from years back. This is awesome....although I never took a picture of it...this was the closest I could find:

1 8oz pkg cream cheese
1/2 t. horseradish
2 T. mayonnaise
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1/2 bottle Heinz Chili Sauce (hate to give them my $, but it's soooooo good and perfect for this recipe)
1 can crab, drained and shredded (shred fine, not like in the picture!)

Blend cheese and horseradish, mayo, onion. Spread onto plate or into pie plate or double the recipe and use a pizza pan. Flatten and smooth cheese mixture and refrigerate overnight.

Before serving spread chili sauce over the top of cheese. Flake crab meat over all. Sprinkle on fresh Italian parsley if you so desire. Decorate with lemon slices if you've got'um. Serve with Ritz, rye crackers, or toast rounds. You will thank me for sharing this with you!
