Fog ~ Birdbath ~ Old Tree ~ Tabouli w/ Smoked Turkey

Good 35º extremely foggy morning.
LOL, it's 49º in San Francisco!!

Pest guy, Sam, was here and put more bait in the gopher tunnels in the front and back yard and some under the back porch slab for the ground squirrels. Darn critters.

Gary came by and picked up and bagged a bunch of my leaves that Jason had blown off the road. He's using them for mulch in his garden.

Yesterday noon:
2:30
5:pm

I was enjoying watching this little Towee in the birdbath... he seemed to be having a blast...

.... and the Princess was watching me...

The dead oak tree in the front yard that is holding up the yard light is falling apart.... the bark is coming off!

Weird looking.

Seems as if there have been a lot of "them" out there lately... especially on the road! Just a thought, if idiots grew on trees this place would be an orchard. <g>

Yesterday was a chore day... laundry, pick up put away, organize... so, dinner was the rest of the smoked turkey cut up and mixed into the tabouli, tomato, mushrooms, cooked diced yam, and reconstituted sliced garlic. Seasoned with Chile Con Límon (thanks Billy!) and some of my seasoned olive oil. Good!

National Cake Day

Here is a favorite of mine...and so easy.

Use your favorite German Chocolate cake mix

1 18.25-oz containerGerman Chocolate Cake Mix; (18.25 oz.) ( I prefer Duncan Hines)
1 1/4 cupswater
1/3 cupvegetable oil
3 largeeggs
1 15-oz canCoconut Pecan Frosting; ( I prefer Duncan Hines

Blend together in large bowl, the cake mix, water, oil and eggs at low speed until moistened. Beat at medium speed for two minutes.
Fold in Coconut Pecan frosting until thoroughly combined. Pour into bundt or tube type cake pan.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for approximately 50-60 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove from pan and garnish with powdered sugar. This cake is soooo moist and good!!!

The pictures you took of the bird in the bird bath are really awesome! Also, loved the frog birdhouse on the "becoming barkless" tree. Cute. You will be making that cake when? LOL
We saw Rich Little with B & C at 7 Feathers. Really funny. Fun time! xo

Sue,
Yipee! I finally figured out if I paste your link into the Internet Explorer browser it will work just fine. I was successful getting things ordered on Vic. Secret too by doing that. So It would seem the problem is with AOL. I refuse to leave them tho as it's all I have ever known.
I am feeling sorry for your tree. Do you know what's causing that?
I find it so interesting all the ingredients you put in everything you make. What is Tabouli? I have never heard of it.

XOX Trisha
p.s. I am now on Internet Ex. So will see if I have the same trouble getting it to post or if it will be easier.

T, the tabouli is in the rice/noodles section of the market. Try some. Really good and good for you. I add chopped tomaotes, celery, and anything else that suits my fancy. Eat hot or cold.

The tree died a couple of years ago and I had it topped. The yard light is attached to the tree, so for now it stays.
