Deer ~ Sue's Hot Wings ~ Cherry Pit Spitting

Well, finally... I started this early, 6am, but AOL or some internet glitch kept me from finishing. So, at 7 I went out to mow. I mowed until 11am. It was getting hot and I was covered head to toe in grass! Shower time! So, now Mr. Internet is cooperating, somewhat... not all the way good yet though. Grrrrrrrrr......

Good 45º clear sunny morning.
This is the 183rd day of the year, 182 to go til the end of the year.
It is the midpoint of a common year. This is because there are 182 days before and 182 days after (median of the year) in common years, and 183 before and 182 after in leap years. The exact time in the middle of the year is at noon, or 12:00. In the UK and other countries that use "Summer Time" the actual exact time of the mid point in a common year is at (1.00 pm) 13:00 this is when 182 days and 12 hours have elapsed and there are 182 days and 12 hours remaining. This is due to Summer Time having advanced the time by one hour. It falls on the same day of the week as New Year's Day in common years.

These chicken wings are awesome. First mix 2 cups flour with about 1/8th cup of Lawr~y's Seasoning Salt or my favorite, Bob's Big Boy seasoned salt (I use 1/2 the bottle). Toss wings with cooking oil and dredge in flour mixture. Deep fry the wings.

Mix 1 bottle for Frank's Hot Sauce with 1 cube of melted butter. Drizzle the sauce over the hot wings and toss to coat. If you prefer to bake the wings, do it on a foil lined pan, no coating, at 500º on the lowest rack for 20-25 minutes, until crispy.
This sauce is the hot ticket though!

Yesterday I mowed. Temps hit 85º, but felt like 95º !
While I was mowing I saw this dead dove. Poor thing. They are the sweetest and gentlest birds. I love their sweet cooing sounds.

I buried the little guy.
Turk called and he fixed both computers, but I didn't have time to go get them. Will do on Tuesday. All the deer came visiting in the evening... 8 of them.... 5 does and 3 bucks ... one 3 point, one 2 point, and a youngster with spikes. All in velvet.

I had watered the grass in front and Maggie was enjoying laying in the cool spot....

And Harley napped on a stair step............

I remember meeting Ozzie Canseco. He opened with "I'm the wrong brother." Sad. Their father was an elegant man. Only met him once. At the World Series in LA- a day you probably enjoyed more than we did, as my brother-in-law was on Canseco's team, not Gibsons):-

Have cherries. Will spit.

I remember Canseco hitting that home run in the 1988 World Series in LA. My sister, Marion, was an A's fan and she was beside herself! What fun we had!
