~ Infused EVOO ~ Rice Blend & Quinoa & Veggies ~

Good 48º cloudy morning.

It DID rain yesterday. Just a smidgen though. Mo' rain predicted for Sunday. Natch.

Osama Bin Laden is standing before God waiting to hear his punishment, when God gets a tap on the shoulder. Behind him stands 343 Firefighters, 72 Police Officers, one K9 officer, 3,000 American Citizens & over 85,000 Soldiers. "Don't worry, God, WE GOT THIS!"

Yesterday I infused olive oil with onion and one with garlic.
Reconstitute freeze dried garlic and freeze dried onion in hot water. Drain, dry well. Add to olive oil in a pot and heat to 200º. Turn off heat and let sit until cool. Drain the garlic/onion in a sieve with a coffee filter. Bottle.

Then I went back to Patty and Cliff's to work on their printer again. Still no luck. Frustrating.

I came home and put together a very healthy and tasty concoction. A great side dish. Or toss some cooked cubed steak in it or chicken or.... and make it a one dish meal.

Cook the rice blend. Cook the Quinoa. Drain and add black olives, sliced mushrooms, diced carrots, peas, diced beets, black-eyed peas, navy beans, and seasoned black beans. I also added in some of the reconstituted onion and garlic and a pinch of sea salt. To serve I heated it up in the micro and drizzled on a little olive oil .

National Homebrew Day? I am going to brew up some compost tea for the tomatoes. Hope that counts.

Too bad Texas can't rustle up some of your rain. Talked to my niece in Portland. Been a wet, wet year for them.

Love your food. The only question: Where is the army you feed?

No, don't think the compost tea is considered "homebrew".. but Gerry could make some beer. Army? Just me, babycakes, just me!!! LOL You know I'd be skinny if I could only learn to cook for me! xo

LOL I was thinking the same thing Lydia! Where's the Army?? You must have tons of leftovers with each meal you make. Good for breakfast and lunch the next day I'll bet!

Got to get on the road to Redondo Beach for the Mom's Day luncheon at K & D's church. This evening a Mary Kay make up party at Deb's. Such fun!
