Rain! SNOW! ~ Nancy and Daddy ~ Artichoke Hearts

Good 36º POURING RAIN morning! OMG, it just keeps coming down. I emptied this rain gauge yesterday late morning...

"They" did say we were going to get 8" of rain from this storm.
Looks like it's working up to that!

....and look, there is snow on my mountain!

....and my daffodils are trying to bloom....

Yesterday was fun catching up on my blogs and emails. In one email I got a recipe from an old neighbor friend, Marie, from Temple City, actually from her daughter, Laura. It's for "Italian Broccoli". I'm going to make it tonight and post the recipe tomorrow. Also got another one for "Garlic Roasted Asparagus". May make both.

One of my favorite foods. I like them in salads, with pasta,

Sue,

So that's where you and Brian got those eyes! I can see your eyes on your dad! Funny that kids of 16 could get into the service at that age back then.

Lovely pics of your mountain.

I always thought Mercedes M was strange too.

Have a good one and happy closet cleaning!

Hugs, Trisha

I don't think they "allowed" kids 16 years old in the military, but he apparently lied about his age and got away with it.He sailed to France aboard the USS Amerika. (yes, correct spelling) xo

S,
No I didn't think they allowed them to join that young but I don't think in todays military anyone could get away with that. Birth certificate and all that. Of course NObama wouldn't have had a problem! :(:(

Your dad was a cutie.

My dad was 17 when he enlisted for WW II. Told his mom she would either sign for him or he would run away and lie about his age.

Love Artichokes and then love me. Much better idea for dinner than a bag of potato chips.
