Fog ... again! ~ Cornish Game Hen ~ Whipped Cream

Good 29º morning. I suppose, since it's still dark out, that we have that inversion layer over us again and it is foggy out. Sigh..........

Can you believe it....only 360 days until the end of this year!   :o(

Yesterday I got quite a bit done. My "New Years" cards showed up. Didn't send out Christmas cards this year. So very unorganized. Today is the Law Enforcement/Fire luncheon. I have to take the door from my wood stove to the 'wood stove' store to have them fix it. The insulation or whatever it's called has come loose. Don't have a clue what to use to stick it back on. Will let them deal with it.

Last night I cooked a Cornish Game Hen...

Raw carrots are good and a great snack, but cooked carrots are better for you. The heat releases more of the beta-carotene, according to Dr. Oz!
I stuffed her hips with lemon wedges and Rosemary sprigs. Drizzled on some of my infused garlic and onion olive oil, squeezed on some lemon juice, sprinkled on the McCormick Crusting (Garlic Rosemary and Lemon), sprinkled on Sonoma pepper and Rosemary sea salt. Baked at 400º for 40 min and then turned the heat down to 350º for another 40 minutes. Perfect!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Nuff said. Ciao.

January 5th
National Bird Day

was established by bird activists. It calls upon people to recognize the plight of captive birds. It also draws attention to exploitation of birds in the U.S. pet industry. On this day, organizers suggest we reflect upon the conditions of birds held in captivity.
..... but it's also
National Whipped Cream Day

I think I'd rather celebrate that!

Oh Dear. National Whipped cream day? I would pass since I am committed to better health. Now that sounds unpatriotic.

We've had electrical work done by Leonardo di Caprio's cousin):-

Before you mentioned it, I hadn't thought of Maureen Reagan now joined with her parents again. Even sad stories have happy endings for those who have left us.

Sue,

National Bird Day got me to thinking of all those black birds that fell to their death in Arkansas. My cousin sent me articles telling that they are pretty sure it was the weather conditions that killed them. Sudden changes. What went wrong with their instincts to migrate south? Oh wait, they ARE in the south so wonder where they normally go? To Mexico with the Hummers maybe?

Loved seeing your cornish game hen. I used to fix them all the time but haven't in years. You sure do eat healthy!

Hugs, Trisha

Yes, it's strange and sad about the birds in Arkansas ... and the fish.

I eat healthy, but I also eat more than I should!!! :o)
