Marion ~ Fly Kill ~ Veggie Patties ~ Golf Cart ~ Nova

Good 54º clear sunny morning.
Yesterday we reached 92º.

For all my Marine family and friends.... LOL

Today was my sister Marion's birthday. Born in 1934 and passed away in 2004. She was my pal. She is sooooo missed!!!

This was the last time I got to see her. Kristen and I took a trip to Arizona to visit just prior to her death from adult onset leukemia.

Ok, when we were eating dinner the other night, a fly kept bothering us. I told everyone that I had told a gentleman once how to kill a fly if it landed in front of you. He tried it and it worked. He was ecstatic!  So, after I had finished eating my dinner, the fly landed on my plate. This is what I did:

Slowly approach the fly with both hands spread apart about shoulder length. Once on each side of the fly raise your hands up quickly abut 6-10 inches and clap. The fly will go straight up and you will get it with the clap! Everyone was surprised! Taaaaa daaaaaa......................

Lunch was a bed of lettuce with tomato and some fried Trader Joe's Vegetable Patties...

About  9 pm Daryl brought my golf cart back after fixing it..... He's had it 3 weeks. This was too late but he had a bunch of stuff to do and today he's getting married. Anyway, he wanted to talk and talk and talk. He finally left here at 9:30.

While he was here the neighbor's dog, Nova, came over!

Dang it, I wish that woman would put a fence around her yard!!! Had to call her and she drove over to pick up her dog. It's 9:30 at night and we have cougars, bears, and coyotes around here! And Nova is small!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

July 14th
National Grand Marnier Day

  1. In order to manufacture the most prestigious liqueur in the world, better known as Grand Marnier, only the finest ingredients have to be used in order to achieve the quality that is expected from one when purchasing such a product.
  2. The Cognac is one of them. The other key ingredient being the oranges that are going to give the flavor which will make Grand Marnier stand out in terms of quality and unique taste.
  3. The oranges used in the manufacturing of Grand Marnier are “bitter oranges” carefully selected from plantations around tropical regions of the world such as the Caribbean’s.
  4. They need to be of a very special species better known as “Citrus Bigaradia” so when the peel is dried, it will still retain a very strong perfume that will give this unique aroma and character to this liqueur.
  5. Still made to the jealously-guarded original recipe created by Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, this blend of the essence of orange, cognac and sugar syrup gives birth to the noble amber liqueur.
