July ~ Doug Gillette Plumbing ~ Doe & Fawns ~ Sheet Pan Mac & Cheese ~ Sign/Book ~ PJ ~ Pig Corn Holders/Shot Glass/Cat Decal ~ Jimmy Schumacher ~ Canada Day

Good 52º clear sunny morning.

Unique date!  7-1-17 !

Weather was nice again. Warmed to 91º by late afternoon. Still not hot enough for AC. Slight breeze.

Yesterday the sink was still making me crazy. Finally Doug showed up at 11am and got it taken care of! I got to wash dishes! What a relief!!! Thank you Doug Gillette (https://www.chamberofcommerce.com/grants-pass-or/39399326-doug-gillette-plumbing)

About that time a momma doe and her babies were up on the hill...

and then later a little fawn was down by the house munching on grape leaves next to my bathroom window...

Saw this recipe on Mr. Food Test Kitchen on FB and boy it sounds good!
Sheet Pan Mac & Cheese

Ingredients:
1 (16oz) pkg elbow macaroni
1 (10oz) can condensed Cheddar Cheese soup
1 cup milk
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
4 T  butter
1½ t. dry mustard
1 t. salt
½ t. black pepper
4 eggs
½ cup crushed butter crackers
1. Preheat oven to 375º. Coat rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.
2. Cook macaroni according to package directions, drain and set aside.
3. In same pot over medium heat combine soup, milk, 2½ cups shredded cheese, 2 T butter, mustard, salt & pepper.
4. Heat 4-5 minutes, until cheese is melted, stirring constantly.
5. Remove pan from heat and stir in eggs.
6. Add macaroni and mix until evenly coated.
7. Spoon onto baking sheet and sprinkle on remaining cheese.
8. In small bowl combine cracker crumbs and 2 T melted butter. Mix well and sprinkle over mac and cheese.
9. Bake 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. Let sit 5 minutes, cut into squares and serve.
I would make that mac & cheese, cut it into squares, put in zip bags, and freeze for later lunches etc.

Here's a sign that will go with the Mac & Cheese:

This looks like a good book:

Canada Day (for you Ike!)

Canada Day is a celebration of Canadian nationalism, heritage and pride. Canada became self-governing on July 1st, 1867, with the passage of the British North America Act (BNA Act) in the British Parliament. The holiday was originally known as "Dominion Day". It was changed to Canada Day by the Canadian Parliament on October 27, 1982.
Did you know? The U.S. and Canada share the largest un-defended border in the world
