Earthquakes ~ Mini Scrambles & Aioli ~ Wreck on Our Road ~ Dude ~ Sole Almondine ~ Chocolate Day

One more day until it's full!

Good 53º clear sunny morning.

Yesterday it was more humid and not so breezy. Turned on AC before noon. We topped at 98º. It was 100º in Medford and Grants Pass.

Multiple earthquakes from 3.1 to 5.8 hit in Montana and parts of Idaho Wednesday night. My (step) daughter-in-law Marie said the house shook and shook for what seemed like all night.

They are in Deer Lodge, which is between Butte and Missoula

Breakfast yesterday was some of Schwans Mini Scrambles (egg bacon cheese mini pizza .....

I scooped some Smokey Barbecue Aioli onto the plate for dipping.

This aioli is made by Stonewall Kitchen. They have many many interesting items. Go to their site, order directly or go to the top of the page "Where to buy" and put in your zip code and find where they are sold close to you.

... we watched that tennis match from a friend's vacation 'condo' in Avalon, Catalina (Charlie & Linda Engelbart). Boris was amazing! Not generally tennis fans but watching him was fun.

This came from my neighbor down on the road.. wow~
"Last night about 10 PM we heard a car (Truck) come screaming up the road from town. very soon we heard a horrendous crash that went on for some time. Seems a drunk lost control slid past our place , continued to skid and flip came to rest at neighbors on west side of road. in the process wiped out his Dodge truck his BMW sedan and his motorhome. All 4 vehicles were in a tangled lump in front of his house. This is just past our place to the north a few hundred feet. The belligerent combative drunk was hauled off in the ambulance. A woman was under the wreckage, apparently dead. She had no clothes on. ?! Both were ejected likely without benefit of seat belts. Dave says there was investigation and sorting out till about 4 this AM."

This was on the news but no details.

This is my road coming off the main road on the right, and just past my road is where it curves, right in front of Dave and PJ's house. Many many accidents here on this curve!  The speed limit is 45mph, but is rarely observed. My mailbox is down in the right corner. When I go get mail I ALWAYS wait for the cars to pass.
When I drive on the road I always set my cruise control at 45 and it apparently pisses off a lot of folks, as they ride on my bumper! LOL. TFB!!!

Later I took Dude to the vet's for his check up after his sedation/teeth cleaning two weeks ago.

All looked good, even his blood tests that came back, but I had noticed a bump on his side a few days ago. The doc took a sample out of it and said it was an abscess. Unknown cause. So, today he goes back to the vets for sedation (again) and the abscess removal. Poor guy. No breakfast. Animals get so upset when their routine is interrupted!

Dinner was  Sole Almondine (http://www.omahasteaks.com/product/Sole-Almondine-6-5-oz-00843?) Drizzled with olive oil and cooked in the Air Fryer for 8 minutes at 400º and then the leftover asparagus added with olive oil and garlic salt and cooked another 5 minutes.

Chair, wine, TV, nap!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

Chocolate Day (Like we need an excuse!)

Mmmmmm.......

Chocolate Day is the perfect opportunity to eat you favorite chocolates in ample portions. Do you really need another excuse to over indulge with your favorite food treat?
Chocolate is America's favorite flavor. It's the flavor of choice in candies, ice cream, cakes, breakfast cereal, toppings, and a whole host of desserts. Unequaled in popularity, it certainly deserves a day in it's honor.
Did you know? Chocolate is a vegetable. It comes from the Cacao tree found in tropical rain forests.
We don't need to tell you what to do to celebrate this day, do we? Eat Chocolate!
May we offer these suggestions for your menu today.......
Breakfast: Your favorite chocolate cereal along with two or three chocolate cream-filled donuts. Wash it down with a little hot chocolate.
Mid-morning snack: A chocolate candy bar(with or without nuts) to hold you over and give you a boost until lunch.
Lunch: A big tall glass of chocolate milk is a must along with your meal. Try a piece of chocolate pie or pudding for dessert.
Mid-Afternoon: Eat healthy(???) with some chocolate covered raisins. This contains both vegetable and fruit.
Dinner: If you are an adult, sip a chocolate liqueur before dinner. Chocolate flavored coffee is a must with dinner. Dessert is none other than chocolate cake.

Nighttime snack: Chocolate ice cream, of course!
