Freeze ~ So. Cal Rain ~ Microwaved Eggs ~ My Creeks ~ Fake Promises ~ The Rock Sings ~ Alyssa Santisteven ~ Quinoa Kale Cakes ~ NFL ~ Chocolate Covered Anything

Good 31º frozen ice on the barn roof morning. At least the rain stopped for a bit.

I sent the rain to So. Cal and Kristen said it has rained steady since 4pm yesterday. At least it minded me, but now it has to stop for Saturday. It's Jack's high school Marching Band Showcase.

Breakfast...
Microwaved eggs, leftover scalloped potatoes, and my standby, tomato.

I drizzled a little olive oil into a microwave safe dish (I use one of my pottery cereal/salad bowl and saucer), add two eggs (prick yolk with sharp knife point), then I add a little garlic salt and grated Parmesan.

Microwave 1 minute 10 -30 seconds, depending on how "runny" you like your eggs.

And then lunch.... a piece of pumpkin roll, a banana, and coffee......
   OINK
Yesterday the rain petered out, but the creeks were still running crazy. I have one that comes from the pond up by the BLM...

And another on just on the north side of the property....... looks like it's taking over the foot bridge....

This is a riot... The Rock can sing!

Pals Suzanne (LASD ret) and Phil (LASD ret) Santisteven are celebrating their daughter Alyssa's 18th birthday today.

Later dinner was something new I got from Omaha Steaks... some quinoa/kale cakes and some little potatoes au gratin, with a little dijonnaise

for dipping. The potatoes were good but I have discovered I don't like kale!! YUCK! LOVE spinach, but the kale is bitter.....
Guess I'll have to find someone who likes kale and give them the rest of the cakes.

Last night's NFL game:
                                                                           Booooo!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

December 16th
National Chocolate Covered Anything Day

Chocolaholics rejoice!
Its a great day to indulge, binge, "pig out", and otherwise consume to excess, your favorite food....chocolate. We believe the timing of this day, during the holiday season, couldn't be better.
Today, we get to enjoy our beloved chocolate by covering something...just about anything... in a generous amount of chocolate. Pour, spread, or drizzle chocolate over cakes, cupcakes, pies, pancakes or waffles, nuts, raisins, even ants (yes, some people actually eat chocolate covered ants!). We will let you decide what is too extreme, and how much is too much, if any.
As chocoloaholics, we shouldn't need any added incentive to enjoy our chocolate. In the giving spirit of the holiday season, make sure to give or share some of your favorite chocolate covered treats today.
